NEXT STEP

Take the Plunge

Baptism is one of the most powerful steps you'll take in your walk with Jesus.

What Is Baptism?

A Public Declaration of Faith

Baptism is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus Christ. It is not what saves you — only faith in Jesus does that. But baptism is how you say to the world: "I belong to Him."

The word "baptism" comes from the Greek word baptizo, meaning to immerse or submerge. Water baptism is full immersion — going under the water as a picture of dying to your old life, and rising up as a symbol of your new life in Christ.

"We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

Romans 6:4

Why Get Baptized?

Jesus commanded it. Before ascending to heaven, Jesus instructed His followers to baptize new disciples. It's not optional — it's an act of obedience.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

Matthew 28:19

Jesus modeled it. Jesus Himself was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist — not because He needed it, but to show us the way and identify with us fully.

It's a declaration. Baptism is your public "yes" — a moment you will remember for the rest of your life. It's a celebration for you and for your church family.

"Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins."

Acts 2:38

Who Should Be Baptized?

Anyone who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. If you've said yes to Jesus — whether recently or years ago — and have never been baptized by immersion as a believer, we invite you to take this step.
